Girl Talk: Future is for Our Girls Career Day Inspires Young Women to Dream Big in 2025
On March 12, 2025, The Sophia Project proudly hosted Girl Talk: Future is for Our Girls Career Day, a powerful one-day career fair held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event focused on "Post-Secondary Dreams" and preparing young women for life after high school, with an emphasis on exposing them to non-traditional career paths and living wage opportunities.
In partnership with Ranken Technical College, the event featured an inspiring speaker panel led by the dynamic Jess Live and included powerhouse voices like Stacey Banks-Goodman, Jessica Gaines, and Monique McKinney. These women shared their journeys, insights, and real-world advice with attendees, leaving a lasting impact on students eager to explore their futures.
The career fair offered a diverse showcase of opportunities and programs including St. Louis Community College’s Short-Term Workforce Programs, Beauty Bootcamp for Girls, the Police Academy, BJC Nursing School, SLATE, Health Community Network, Access Point STLCC, and many more. The goal was to ensure every attendee left with new possibilities to consider and tangible next steps toward their dreams.
To close out the afternoon, attendees participated in a powerful and heartfelt Girls Forum featuring Tiara Young, Donielle Elizabeth, Tee Thomas, and Miriam Webb. This open and honest dialogue gave girls a safe space to speak freely, ask questions, and hear encouraging words from women who understand their journeys.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, Ranken Technical College and Ameren, for their generous support in making this empowering day possible.
Girl Talk: Future is for Our Girls Career Day, was more than an event—it was a launchpad for futures filled with purpose, passion, and potential.
